
Action with Communities in Rural Kent (previously known as Kent Rural Community Council) is an independent voluntary organisation (Registered Charity No. 212796).
Membership is open to any organisation, community group or individual who supports our purpose. Benefits of membership include our monthly newsletter, "Rural News" and our periodical, "Oast to Coast" for news and information on rural issues, as well as invitations to participate in seminars, events and conferences at reduced rates, also one to one advice.

The Food Standards Agency is carrying out an initial consultation into how food law applies to community halls that are used for the preparation, sale or supply of food.

The results of the consultation will inform the developments of any proposals to reduce legislative burdens in response to the Red Tape Challenge.

We are looking to recruit a new part-time (15 hrs/week) Community Rail Engagement Officer. Ideally with a background in education, the succesful candidate will help develop a Schools Engagement Strategy and also promote Station Adoption schemes in Kent. Action with Communities in Rural Kent is supporting the local roll-out of the Switchover Help Scheme. We need to visit every parish and town in Kent and Medway to spread this message and ensure no-one gets missed. We need local volunteers to help with our programme to ensure that no-one misses out on the help that’s available to assist with making the necessary changes. Rural Kent is now working with independent energy advice company "Make it Cheaper" who specialise in seeking out the best energy supply contracts for businesses.
