Rural Community SafetyAre there concerns about
safety in your community? Rural Kent is safer than you think to live and work. If rural communities feel there is a local safety problem then contacting the local Community Safety Officer is a good way of working towards a local solution.
Between 1998 and 2001, with the help of a grant from the Community Fund, we helped rural communities to form Community Safety Action Groups. Working with local Community Safety Partnerships and Local Responsible Authorities for Crime and Disorder communities can act together to reduce rural crime and the fear of crime. The Kent People’s Trust has been established by the Kent County
Constabulary to assist local communities that wish to reduce crime and
improve the safety of their environment. Contact Mike Westwell at Police
Headquarters on 01622 653208 or email: michael.westwell@kent.pnn.police.uk
