We launched five EU-financed trans-national co-operation projects in October 2011. The projects, which all build upon work undertaken locally by the RCC in recent years, exist to inform either future policy-setting or service delivery in the following areas:
Community-Led / Neighbourhood Planning
Older-persons healthcare in rural areas
Older-persons volunteering
Social entrepreneurship
Youth employment in green and eco social enterprise
Some of the projects are relatively small in scale, and supported by either the LEONARDO or GRUNDTVIG streams: one however – ‘Greener Futures for Young People’ - is supported by the larger PROGRESS fund and is not only just one of ten to be supported across Europe, but the only one led by a UK-based organisation - for more information about the Greener Futures for Young People project click here.
Partners for the various projects are based in Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden. Participation in the projects will be by RCC staff and volunteers, representatives of local public, private and civil society organisations, two universities and, in ‘Greener Futures for Young People,’ staff of the European Commission.
