Kent Calor Village of the Year Competition

We are very pleased to announce that Sarah Pascoe (no relation to Ruth Pascoe), from Mereworth has offered to be our co-ordinator. Sarah takes over from Miranda Hayes, who stepped in last year as a temporary measure.

We are very grateful to Calor Gas, Shepherd Neame, CPRE Kent and Kent Community Foundation for supporting the overall competition this year.

This annual competition encourages villages across Kent and Medway to celebrate their unique quality of life in a Kent and Medway wide competition. Villages may enter all the following competition sections or a selection that suits the village. The sections are:

 

This year, the award event is on the 1st September in the evening. All entering villages are invited to send upto 2 representatives.

The Kent winner represents Kent in the national Village of the Year competition - competing against the winners from 40 other counties in England, Scotland and Wales.

The Kent competition gains strength year on year. Recently Kent has been blessed with some absolutely first class volunteer judges, but we could always use a few more, so if you are interested, please do contact us to find out more.

The national competition winners are announced in December.
